This wave swims at 83 beats per minute and a B major key. The woman in the photo is my Aunt, Eleanor Armstrong Sampson. As a 6th grader, Eleanor played a piano solo and was hooked ever since. In 1948, she became the first black music teacher in the Philadelphia School District. She played in the Philadelphia Piano Ensemble in the 1940s & 1950s. She was able to exercise her musical teaching skills with the singing group The Stylistics, Billy Wilson the choreographer, and Billy Paul the singer.
